Sponsor a Plank
“Sponsor a Plank ” is now open for a limited period. Phase One planks can be labelled with your name at £100 per plank as shown in the photo. There are only 200 planks at this stage and we have already taken orders for 55 planks, so if you are interested, drop by Pierside Snacks for a form on Fridays between 9.30am and 2pm, or Saturday / Sunday 9.30am – 3pm Or Email shotleypier@gmail.com for a form to be emailed to you. Fund raising play at Shotley Village Hall
Horizons Theatre Group kindly offered to perform “Bette and Joan” short play as a fund raiser at Shotley Village Hall on Wednesday 25th April and Thursday 26th April 2018. Two wonderful evenings were enjoyed by all. The intensity of sitting so close to the action was quite unusual and felt quite different to seeing a performance on a far away stage. Refreshments included cake and biscuits which were very popular. Tickets are available to book online or pay on the door £10 each and there will be refreshments in the interval

Spreading The #PledgePier Word
What a year it has been for those interested in buying, restoring and renovating the pier. Our community group formed into a legal entity, the Shotley Heritage Charitable Community Benefit Society Ltd, a bit of a mouthful, so more informally known as the Shotley Pier Group. People can now pledge funds online or sending in a printed form, and can make donations with the added attraction of Giftaid, or buy Community Shares This website has been set up, you will see the links to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google+ all of which will help spread the word. We have attracted a good deal of local interest so far, with interviews with Mark Murphy, James Hazell, Stephen Foster and Lesley Dolphin on BBC Radio Suffolk, articles in the In Touch magazine, Shotley Noticeboard and Chelpin, along with features in the East Anglian Daily Times, reproduced in the Ipswich Star, while BBC Look East have filmed the pier and interviewed the group several times. But the best way of getting our message out there is through you. So please share on social media (all the buttons are below), tell your friends and use the hashtag #PledgePier, wherever possible. placard photos
